Rod Giblett built his own house by Forrestdale Lake in 1986 and has lived in it ever since. For several years he kept a nature journal from which the firt part of this book is drawn. He is a local conservationist of bushland and wetlands in Forrestdale and has been Secretary of the Friends of Forrestdale for more than 20 years.
