A biographical summary accompanies this matted print, which also comes with a stamp of authenticity signed by the artist's elder half-brother and art agent, Nikita Pokrovsky. The woodcut illustration measures about 3 x 4 inches. Matted size is about 10 x 13 inches.

Compelling portrait by Russian artist Kumankov

I have several of Kumankov's original pieces, including a different Thoreau print. Sadly, the artist himself is no longer with us, but he left behind an extraordinary collection of artworks. He is particularly well known for his sensitive and insightful portraiture. Highly recommended!
