I am very disappointed with this 2012 version of the "Sauntering Society" tee. I first purchased one in person from the shop several years ago. Back then the words were truly printed or silk screened onto the fabric, the shirt was of highest quality and made in the USA, and the dye was deep and true.

Unfortunately, this time the shirt came with plastic heat-sealed lettering and logo, a "made in Honduras" tag, and an uneven dye job that makes the shirt look cheap and used (even the tag had been dyed).

I am especially unhappy because I ordered this shirt as an authentic "American" gift for a special friend in the UK. But its poorer than expected quality and the fact that it is not American-made have squelched my original excitement about using it as a gift.

For the price, the original quality should have been maintained.

On a good note though, my order did arrive very quickly and well packaged.

On my 50th birthday, several friends of mine,Ann Claveaux, Carl Campbell & Bev Humphrey, gave me a navy blue with orange lettering Thoreau Sauntering Society Tshirt. No matter where I traveled, people would comment on it and start up conversations. Trips to the gym, to Europe, Alaska, National Parks, and NYC outside the twin towers 10 years ago usually evoked comments. Down thru the years my friends gave me several more and I bought several when I visited the store at Walden Pond some years ago. I am now 72 and will be ordering more.
