Henry Thoreau's Walden house has hand-burned onto a slice of wood, along with his Walden quote: "I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived." Sealed with a polyurethane finish. Measures about 11 x 8.5 inches, with a bark edge about three-quarters of an inch wide on two sides. Hardware for hanging has already been installed. A one-of-a-kind piece, crafted in Massachusetts by Burning Woman.
